Hospice is About a Better Life, Not Just the End of Life.

The Virginia Hospice Awareness Campaign is made possible thanks to a grant from Aetna. The goal is to make Virginians aware of the difference nonprofit hospice providers can make in caring for patients and families through our #JointMission to care for all regardless of race, citizenship status or ability to pay.

About ConnectionsPlus Healthcare: In 2024 ConnectionsPlus Healthcare and Hospice (formerly Rockbridge Area Hospice + Mountain Regional Hospice) will celebrate forty years of service to our community. We grew organically from this community to serve our neighbors. We have deep roots here and we care deeply for the people. Our volunteers and employees are local. They share this area’s spirit of service – using their skills and talents to help their neighbors. Over the decades, our homegrown organization has earned the respect of the local and regional healthcare community, and we are proud of our Five-Star Medicare rating, placing us in the top 10% of hospices in the country. Our name may have changed, but our mission remains the same: to keep patients with serious illness comfortable at home and help them remain engaged with their faith, friends and pastimes for as long as they can. Instead of giving up on life while they’re still living, we connect patients and their families with remarkable resources for answering their physical, emotional, spiritual and practical needs. This extra layer of care brings a great sense of peace to both the patient and family. We are neighbors helping neighbors, since 1984.
