Capital Caring Health’s Passion for Caring Gala to Highlight the Latest Innovations in the Delivery of Advanced Illness Care for Patients and Families

Special Honorees Include: The Washington Home, and Adam Boehler, Director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation

Washington, D.C. – Capital Caring Health’s 30th annual Passion for Caring Gala will be held Saturday, Nov. 16 at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons corner. The annual gala is Capital Caring Health’s largest fundraising event of the year with nearly 500 guests in attendance. WUSA 9’s award-winning journalist, Lesli Foster, will emcee this exciting event.

This year’s theme is There’s No Place Like Home. Proceeds will benefit Capital Caring Health’s hospice and palliative home care services to support families who face the challenge of serious chronic illness allowing them to receive the services they need in the comfort of their homes. Almost 90 cents out of every dollar Capital Caring Health receives goes directly to support our Mission.

Guests will join co-chairs Sharon and Donn Davis and Danni and Dave Lougee for an inspirational evening and to celebrate another year of extraordinary care in our community with a festive cocktail reception, a silent and live auction, delicious dinner, and dance the night away with hundreds of Capital Caring Health’s friends and supporters.

Capital Caring Health will also recognize The Washington Home with the 2019 Passion for Caring Award in recognition of its more than 100-year history of caring for individuals with advanced illness. Sharon Collins Casey, Chair of the organization’s Board of Directors, will be in attendance and accept the award on behalf of The Washington Home.

Additionally, the 2019 President’s Award will be presented to Adam Boehler, Director of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, for his work as a champion of value-based advanced illness care.

The Passion for Caring Gala will also highlight the impact that generous community support has made on patients and families through the wide range of programs Capital Caring Health offers.
