New Name. More Care.

(Falls Church, VA) Oct. 1, 2019 – Capital Caring Health is inviting visitors to explore its new website (capitalcaring.org) which has been redesigned to provide the ultimate user-friendly experience with improved navigation, enhanced content, and more opportunities to engage and explore the new services available to the community.

As one of the largest and oldest non-profit providers of hospice and advanced illness care in the mid-Atlantic region, Capital Caring has added ‘Health’ to its name, a reflection of its expanded offerings in elder care for medical and social support.

“We’re excited to expand our care for one of the largest and fastest growing segments of our community – those who are 65 years of age and older,” said Tom Koutsoumpas, President and CEO of Capital Caring Health. “There is a significant unmet need for primary care for seniors who are home limited, due to a chronic condition or illness.  Our new Primary Care at Home service will bring much needed medical and social support services directly to the home, bringing piece of mind to families and patients and allowing seniors to age in place.”

Capital Caring Health’s new web site showcases all of the programs and services available, including our Children’s Hospice and Palliative Care program, Veterans Health and Support Services, Grief Support and Stay-at-Home Services, in addition to Advanced Illness and Hospice Care.

Additional features on the new web site include a multi-lingual function to view the site in Spanish and Korean, with more language options to be added in the near future.

“Patients struggling with serious illnesses and their caregivers need a special kind of care and support,” said Tom Koutsoumpas, “They need information and guidance on the best care options tailored to their condition, that enables them to remain as comfortable and active as possible in their own home, or wherever they call home, and Capital Caring Health can offer them the relief and support they need,” he continued.

The newly designed website also features videos of our various clinical and support staff sharing how they support patients and families, opportunities to join our team, become a volunteer, or make a donation to help provide care for persons who are not covered by Medicare or private insurance.

“We hope our new web site will help reach more members of our community who are unaware of the benefits of advanced illness and hospice for people living with advanced and life-altering illness, and for elders who are in need of primary care at home,” said Koutsoumpas.
