A Special Way to Honor Our Veterans This Memorial Week

Join Capital Caring Health in Improving the Lives of Veterans with Dementia.

Falls Church, VA (May 22, 2023) Last year, 2022, was the 50th Anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War. All these years later, there is a special way to help the nearly 1.5 million Vietnam-era Veterans suffering from the devastation of dementia- half with Alzheimer’s.

That is why Capital Caring Health (CCH) is leading the way in Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia to provide free of charge a companion robotic pet to every Veteran with dementia who lives in the communities we serve.

Our specific goal for this Memorial Week is to raise $100,000, which will provide for 1000 robotic pets.

These Pets, through many clinical studies and first-hand experience at CCH, are proven to bring calm and delight to Veterans and others suffering from dementia. Additionally, since dementia usually precludes caring for live pets, this is simply a wonderful solution.

Veterans and their families have access to many support services, but none of these provide for this low-cost and lasting way to bring a smile and around the clock joy to a dementia-stricken Veteran.

Together, with others who care about our Veterans with dementia, we can transform many Veterans living with dementia from sad and confused to happy and joyful.
