Chip Cagle and Kendrick CurryThis Thursday, June 8, Capital Caring is part of something big and impactful – Do More 24, a 24-hour online fundraising program organized by the United Way of the National Capital Area.

Beginning at midnight on Thursday, #DoMore24 will raise funds online that benefit more than 700 participating local nonprofits providing services throughout the capital area, including DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

Capital Caring is excited to participate in the #DoMore24 campaign again this year!

What can donations to the #DoMore24 campaign support for Capital Caring? Any level of giving will be put to good use as we care for nearly 1,400 moms, dads, and kids in our community every day. For example:

  • $24 provides four days of medical supplies for a hospice patient.
  • $48 will send a child to one of our Point of Hope Camps. These camps provide safe and supportive spaces for grieving children, teens, and young adults, offering them an opportunity to learn from, and bond with, others facing similar challenges.
  • $124 provides a physical therapist visit to someone in our care – these individuals may be suffering from the side effects of treatments, illness, or even emotional distress.
  • $240 allows Capital Caring to provide one complete day of compassionate, patient-focused hospice care for an uninsured hospice patient, wherever that individual calls home.

See, #DoMore24 is dedicated to making real change in neighborhoods across the region.

As a nonprofit and the region’s premier hospice and palliative care provider, Capital Caring understands the power of charitable giving – in fact, philanthropy is how we do what we do. Our Patient Care Fund provides more than $3 million annually in charitable care to ensure everyone who needs compassionate hospice care receives it, regardless of their ability to pay.

Capital Caring is proud to work alongside our partners at the United Way and #DoMore24. We all share a commitment to serving individuals throughout the metro DC community and will continue working together to ensure we simply improve care for all those who come to us in need..

So please help all of us at Capital Caring #DoMore on June 8. Once you make a contribution, tell your friends, family members, and colleagues to do the same. Share your donation on social media to encourage your network to join in on this 24-hour effort!
