How are Capital Caring Services Paid For?

As a not-for-profit provider of services, Capital Caring has made a promise to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan region, to care for all who seek our support to the best of our ability. Our services are generally covered by Medicare and Medicaid. Private insurance generally follows the lead of these governmental payers, with small contractual co-payments as outlined in your plan. If you have insufficient funds or no payer source, our Patient Care Fund may be able to provide financial assistance.Your Care Navigator can assist you with understanding payment options and how to go about applying for benefits, should that be necessary.

Who Pays for Pediatric Palliative and Hospice Care?

Most private insurance covers palliative and hospice care as do Medicaid programs. As a nonprofit, Capital Caring donors help assure that families without insurance or any other way to pay – who meet our income criteria – are never refused care. As a nonprofit, we provided more than $3 million in charity care to those who had nowhere else to turn in 2017 alone.
