Shana L. Sullivan, a volunteer in Capital Caring’s Fairfax neighborhood, is also a member of the United States Navy, where she serves as the Chief Musician of the U.S. Navy Band.

Last month, Capital Caring and with Jim Roberts, president of the American Veterans Center, announced a partnership to honor the sacrifice of veterans in care at Capital Caring.

On Saturday, MUC Sullivan, as a guest of Capital Caring, will perform ‘God Bless America’ at the American Veterans Center Honors at Washington’s Mayflower Renaissance. The Honors, aired on The Pentagon Channel, is the only military honors awards broadcast nationally on television. Capital Caring, along with Sullivan, other volunteers, and veterans will participate in the annual Honors event this Saturday, November 8, 2014.

Ms. Sullivan is a native of Lufkin, Texas. She enlisted in the Navy in 1995 and in 2005 became the lead singer of the Navy band, The Cruisers, the award-winning premier rock band of the U.S. Navy. She has entertained audiences around the world.
