As part of our popular Business Buzz program, Capital Caring welcomed more than 30 representatives from our business partners to the Capital Caring Adler Center on the Van Metre Campus on Thursday, February 9, for a special luncheon and presentation. Without the support and partnership of our technology providers, our medical equipment providers, our pharmacy partners, and even our accounting and investment portfolio managers, Capital Caring would not be able to provide the world-class service our community has relied on for the past 40 years. These organizations represent some of our region’s most influential and community-minded businesses.

Kim Brancato, the Executive Director of the Capital Caring Adler Center shared a beautiful story about the impact our volunteers, nurses, and social worker had on one particular patient who was so moved by the music being played on the piano in our Great Room and the calming touch of a pet therapy dog that her abdominal pain completely subsided. Len Adler, who along with his wife, Dale, provided the funds to build the Capital Caring Adler Center, then shared a poem that helped plant the seed in his heart about supporting Capital Caring in such a profoundly generous way. We are forever grateful for the dedication the entire Adler family has shown over the past years. And finally, Dawn Draayer, our Major and Corporate Gifts Officer, provided a sneak preview of the many events (and future Business Buzz luncheons) Capital Caring has planned for the rest of our 40th anniversary year.

DawnDWe would like to offer our sincere appreciation to all those who joined us for the first Business Buzz event of 2017. To learn more about future events, or to learn how your support could help Capital Caring simply improve care for those with advanced illness, email Dawn Draayer at or visit our Corporate Partnership Program page.
